Five Star Reviews for Each Enneagram
In this post, I’m sharing a little appreciation for each type! These are based on my own thoughts plus some of your submissions.

Type One
If you could see yourself how we see you, you would give yourself 5 stars, too. There's nothing to improve: you are perfect as you are.
I know I can trust my One friend to do what they've said they'll do. I don't have to double-check: I just know they'll be there.
They are determined to make the world a better place. Even when things are falling apart, they somehow tap into hope and a deeply-held belief that we can do (and be) better. It gives me hope, too.
The Ones in my life are full of integrity, and they always like to have sound reasoning for their decisions. However, I also want to highlight that they have good instincts, and I appreciate it when they trust their gut, too.
They are honest, dependable, and idealistic, in the best sense of the word. Being able to see potential and work toward it requires at least a glimmer of eternal optimism. My One friends often overlook that in themselves, but it's a wonderful quality.
This review is for Type One, Vacation Edition. This limited edition One is rare, so I recommend committing their fun-loving, lighthearted, easy side to memory! While elusive, this side of the One is easier to spot in daily life once you've observed it elsewhere. Get ready to party!
You really do think of everything. I'm so glad you exist!
Ones don't just do the right thing because it's expected; they do the right thing because they are inherently good. Doing what is ethical is essential to their character.
Seeing a One accept themselves (including mistakes and imperfections) is like watching the heavens open. There is something magical about witnessing that level of self-love and kindness.
Type Two
Somehow my Two friend makes me feel like I'm the only person in the world when we're in a conversation.
Ohhhhhh! Look at you setting boundaries! I'm not even mad you said no, I'm just impressed and so proud of you for taking care of yourself. I love seeing you treat yourself like you treat your besties.
I wish you could see how incredibly lovable you are! You don't need to do anything: I love you exactly as you are, no strings attached.
I know you think we only love you when you're sweet and loving, but I love seeing your bold, snarky, fun side. I know you don't always show how you really feel, so it feels like a privilege to truly know you in that way.
They are super passionate about their work, and they focus on recognizing the human element that everyone else is missing. They can see that we're all connected somehow, which is awe-inspiring!
They notice the little things and make sure people can have the best possible experience of the world. I am always impressed by how thoughtful and conscientious they are.
You always remember to point out what others are great at! I love that you see strengths and highlight them.
I am so grateful for your friendship. When times are tough, I know you'll be there with a word of advice, encouragement, or a listening ear.
There's nothing more powerful than witnessing a Two as they find their truest self. A Two prioritizing their OWN big dreams is unstoppable.
Type Three
They are more emotional than they let on, which means once you get to know them, you get to see their soft, generous, loving heart. My Three friend always tears up watching the Olympics, and it's precious.
You can envision a future where I'm living my most fulfilled, amazing life, AND you'll walk beside me every step of the way. I'm in awe of how you see potential in every person you meet, and I love that you're in my corner.
They make huge obstacles seem like little bumps in the road. Once they put their mind to something, they'll make it happen.
They're always up to something! And they make it all look easy.
I know you feel like you have to keep it all together, but I love getting to see beneath that flurry of activity. When you accept yourself, something magical happens. Your feelings, self-deprecating humor, and genuine kindness mean the most to me.
You find a way to relate with everyone you meet. I know you think your chameleon-esque nature is a weakness, but I can see how it makes people feel like they matter.
They can be particular about results, but I appreciate that Threes don't wait for things to be perfect to get started. They are super resourceful and great problem solvers.
Your positive attitude is contagious, and you make people feel capable and valued. The world needs more of that!
Very impressive! They don't even need to do anything - in fact, they could probably do even less, and I'd still be inspired.
Type Four
They have deep reverence for pain and suffering. When they see suffering, they don't look away or try to cover it up. Instead, they offer empathy, presence, and validation.
They are fully, unconditionally themselves. Being able to see the depth of their psyche allows them to be exactly who they are in the moment.
You can see that everything has an opposite. Because you know darkness exists, you know light exists, too. You can see and experience both fully.
Let me tell you about a Type Four pep talk. They said, "I know it sucks when people don't get you or it feels like they intentionally misunderstand, but that's okay, you don't have to be for everyone." Not only was that exactly what I needed to hear, but it hit home because I knew they'd been there. Thanks for sharing your resilience.
They contain multitudes! They show up in all of their softness, intensity, rebellion, moodiness, glee, originality, intellect, twisted sense of humor, emotionality, et cetera, et cetera.
They always seem to have the perfect word for something. Like a walking thesaurus of forgotten adjectives.
They are able to iterate upon anything to create something even more exceptional. It's like every idea is a window into a new perspective. Call it creativity or imagination or innovation – whatever it is, it's extraordinary.
Fours invest deeply into their work, their passions, and their treasured relationships. They move toward mystery and idealism in a way that inspires the rest of us to reorient our understanding of reality. Their ability to intuitively recognize emotional energy is rare and beautiful.
I won't claim to fully understand how you see things, but I'm glad you see the way you do.
Type Five
I never feel intruded upon by my Five friend. They are curious enough to ask how I'm doing, but they're never pushy, and they respect that I don't always want to share. This is such a gift to me and makes me feel very safe with them.
Incredible source of knowledge! Their encyclopedic recall of various topics is impressive.
The kindest and most thoughtful friend. Not sure how they remembered that random factoid I mentioned months ago, but they did.
Super reliable for a well-reasoned and informed opinion, especially when things in the world seem contradictory. They can make sense of even the most obscure concepts because they're always puzzling through something internally.
Top-tier humor! I make sure to sit next to a Five to hear their side comments and under-their-breath remarks.
It can be difficult for me to take time away for myself, but I appreciate how well my Five friends model this. Through their example, I've learned to value and prioritize my need for solitude.
You lend a great listening ear, and I feel confident that you are a trustworthy friend - anything that goes into the vault never leaves. In turn, I feel trusted and special when you choose to share with me.
I know I can count on them for unbiased advice. They always bring a fresh perspective and offer ideas I hadn't yet considered.
When you choose to let me into your circle, I know it means a great deal. I appreciate the way you are so committed and loyal.
Type Six
Thanks for thinking ahead before committing to a plan, especially when those plans involve road trips in rural areas. I'd quite literally be lost without you.
I know I can count on you (but I also appreciate when you put yourself first).
The most thoughtful friend who always has my back. I feel so reassured they're in my corner.
You're devoted to your people. You do everything you can to make sure those you love are protected and taken care of.
Sixes are dutiful and diligent, but they aren't just task robots: they carefully consider the impact of their decisions, and they move ethically and purposefully.
Sixes offer thoughtful, incisive commentary, and they always have a different perspective to share. Sometimes I end up feeling like I'm just floating through my life, but my Six friends keep me grounded and aware of reality.
Will keep you in stitches with endearing & self-deprecating humor. Plus, who doesn't love a friend with tissues and Advil to spare?
I know I can count on the Sixes in my life to ask the questions I'm thinking about but fear asking out loud. I know you don't always want to stick your neck out and ask, but I really appreciate your willingness to push back and speak up.
I appreciate that you love fiercely and deeply.
Type Seven
You see the brilliance of life, and you help others find joy in the little things, too.
The only person who is allowed to text me 13 times in a row. I just love their excitement, curiosity, and passion.
I love the side of my Seven friend that few people get to see: there's something so pure about getting to see their emotional side. Plus, I love knowing all the depth beneath the happy-go-lucky / life of the party exterior. A real gem.
Inspires me to be the best version of myself and to live my life to the fullest! I feel honored that my 7 believes in me and thinks I'm amazing, even on my worst days.
They're fiercely independent and simultaneously super loyal to their chosen family. I love that it feels like every room is brighter when they're in it.
Can make anything in life a little more enjoyable. Plus, I love that they get me out of my comfort zone on a regular basis, in the best way possible!
There's truly nothing like a Type Seven brain. I would love to know what's really happening in there (like how your thoughts are moving at the speed of light), but for now I'll just watch in awe.
Never a dull moment with this one!
You make everyone feel like they belong, and I love that about you.
Type Eight
When something feels off, I know I can ask you for your gut instinct on the situation. You tell me the truth, even when it might be hard to hear, and I LOVE that I can trust you with that.
My Eight friend can make things happen! They're able to move from thought to action with impressive speed. Their fearlessness is a force to be reckoned with.
Secretly just a big marshmallow. I know you don't show that side often, but I treasure those moments with you.
Will fight off bullies whenever necessary. I love having an Eight in my corner!
The friend I call when I need encouragement to just get out there and do the thing. They are willing to put themselves out there and try new things, which inspires me to do the same. I know the tough-love side of their pep talk is their belief in my potential.
Offers clarity and conviction when it's needed the most! I love that my 8 focuses on what's most important.
They never half-ass anything, and I really love that about them!
You're the BEST at boundaries. I love that you remind me that I actually DON'T have to please everyone who has ever lived. You encourage me to act in line with my own values & ethics without becoming over-responsible for others.
They always say what needs to be said, even when it might be unpopular.
Type Nine
When I've gotten to see my Nine friend truly fired up about something, I can tell they have a deep well of strength beneath the surface. I appreciate their convictions and fortitude.
I know you notice more than others think you do. I admire your ability to value various perspectives and remain nonjudgmental.
They don't always say what they're thinking, but when they do, it's powerful. I've loved getting to see this side of a Nine in my life! Watching a Nine come into their own is a profound gift.
When everything is falling apart, you believe it's all going to be okay. I know you think that's a weakness, but I also see it as a strength.
In a world where it always feels like "every man for himself," I love that my 9 friend can see how we're all connected. Remembering this helps me see the humanity in myself and others.
You offer a supportive listening ear, and I feel safe and grounded in your presence.
You remind me that I don't have to earn the right to exist. Just being a human is enough, and I don't have to prove I'm worth it to belong here.
Your acceptance of others gives me space to be my full self. You're so easy to love.
Somehow, they always find ways we are actually in agreement. When everyone else is highlighting how we're different, Nines see how we're the same. They bring harmony and ease tension.
