Small Ways to Reset: For when things are feeling a little wobbly
As I noticed my own need for a reset, I was curious what routines or rituals others have in place to help reset during a busy day or week. When I asked this question in my stories, the responses across every type were fascinatingly similar - we're all people, after all!
While there were some common themes within types, (for example, many Ones expressed that making their bed before they start their day is essential), other types also mentioned similar practices (like tidying up their space) really helped get the ball rolling, or made them feel relaxed as they prepared for bed. I didn't organize these by type because it just didn't seem that helpful in this case!
Admittedly, I am NOT a big routine person, but I find that there are small things I can do consistently that actually help. And FYI, if you’re like me, it’s totally fine to try on a small routine a week or a month at a time! It doesn’t have to be forever OR all at once 😊
Things that have helped me:
☀️ A nighttime alarm to remind me to go to bed
☀️ Getting up at the same time every day (ugh, boring!!!! But it helps!)
☀️ Making my bed (see comment above)
☀️ EFT Tapping when I have time with @jacqui.acree
☀️ Moving my body - I like walks and yoga and the occasional intense workout
☀️ Writing a to-do list at the end of the day to get things off my mind so I don’t think about them when I’m not working
☀️ Being kind to myself when I don’t have a “perfect” routine and doing what works for me
Maybe you already found a routine or ritual that works for you but still feel a bit stuck! Or maybe you’re still searching for the best practice to help you push that reset button.

Centering Practices
Starting the day with a good cup of coffee or tea
A moment of meditation or prayer (if you’re new to this, start with just a few minutes!)
Screen-free alone time
Daily reflection - gratitude journaling, devotionals, affirmations, etc.
Setting aside some time to read
Occasionally taking time to slow down a morning habit (like making a pour-over instead of using the coffee maker)
Don’t Forget About Your Body!
Doing a body scan to notice where you’re holding pain or tension
Daily body movement, especially if it involves getting some fresh air!
Working out (yoga, weight lifting, etc.)
Breathwork, or simply taking a few deep breaths to feel grounded
A 30-second dance party
Tidying up (this counts, too!)
Mood Shifters
A meaningful conversation with a trusted loved one
Watching or listening to a favorite feel-good podcast or show
Listening to your go-to music playlist
Doing something fun!
Making time for a hobby you enjoy
A bath or shower to feel grounded and relaxed
Just Remember
There are no gold stars for doing it all. Take it slow! Start small.
